The
Church of the Nazarene has been firmly committed to promoting evangelism,
missions, and Christian education through the Sunday School. That mission
has not changed. We still believe that it is through the Sunday School that
the Church has the unique opportunity to reach and teach people of all ages
and from all walks of life about Christ.
The core values of the Church of the Nazarene remind us that we are a
Christian people, a Holiness people and a missional people. In Sunday School
Ministries we hold to these same core values. We are a Christian people. We
believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord
of Scripture.
We look to Scripture as the primary source of spiritual truth confirmed by
reason, tradition, and experience. Sunday School is the place to teach the
vital importance of Scripture to our children, teens, and adults and to
disciple them in their Christian walk. Sunday School remains one of the
church's most powerful ways to affirm the Word of God as the foundation for
living the Christian life.

We invite you to participate in one of our Sunday School classes and learn more about God's Word in an informal atmosphere with people who care. Sunday School begins at 9:30 am each Sunday morning.
Most of the programs of Nazarene Missions International are built around
a
calendar of emphases. Prayer and fasting are vital to missions. For this
reason, the prayer and fasting emphasis is not restricted to a particular
month. Nazarene Missions International (NMI) provides special prayer and
fasting opportunities in a variety of settings throughout the year. NMI
knows that such spiritual disciplines take place in individual, small group,
and corporate settings.
What is the Alabaster Offering?
The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. While we understand the church consists of the people of God and not a building, buildings erected for the purpose of ministry help provide a sense of permanence, functionally enhance ministry efforts, and convey an attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to "put down roots." Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.

District Youth Mission Project
The District Youth Mission Project is
to purchase needed materials for the
District Youth Mission Trip in 2012. Goal is $3500.
The vision
that fuels our work in Children’s Ministries grows out of Jesus’ words in Mark
10:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” In the midst of a consuming ministry
to adults, Jesus regularly ministered to children. We believe the future of the
church depends on effective ministry to children today.

Gainesville
First is very fortunate to have so many talented musicians in all age groups.
Tamara McCumber has been leading the
choir for several years and has blessed our congregation with weekly selections
as well as seasonal cantatas. Cari Williamson and
Debby Kline serve faithfully as our piano and
clavinova players. Our Praise Team, led by Barry Woodall, introduces a mixture
of the old hymns with the newer contemporary choruses.
Michele Carney and Kevin Finney serve as
our sound and video technicians and provide a valuable contribution to the
quality of our services. If you would like to be a part of this ministry,
contact one of our music leaders, and they will gladly find a place of service
for you.
The small group ministry has been around since Jesus walked this earth,
but has only recently become the leading edge of church growth again in the
last twenty years or so. ANY church that is growing today can attribute most
of that growth to the ministry of small groups.
In our fellowship we have several small groups functioning on a weekly
basis. We have discovered the intimacy, spiritual dynamic, and support found
in small groups to be very appealing.
Join one of our small Groups and experience the joy of belonging and
acceptance.
